About Carlisle

Established in the 18th Century, Carlisle is one of the oldest towns in Cumberland County where it is also the county seat. Located only minutes from Harrisburg, Hershey, Gettysburg, and Lancaster, and just two hours from Philadelphia and Washington D.C, it's a short drive away, but a world apart.

As the home of Dickinson College, Penn State Dickinson School of Law, the U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Events Car Shows, and world-renowned trout streams, visitors from all around the globe are drawn to Carlisle. Its small town charm and big city sophistication attracts history buffs, art lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and sports fans.
