New Open MRI

In an effort to provide the latest in healthcare technology, Carlisle Regional Medical Center has now expanded its comprehensive Imaging Services to offer the Hitachi Oasis, a truly open magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system.

This newest Open MRI technology in the world allows patients to experience top-quality MRI scans without being closed into a traditional MRI tunnel. The Oasis boasts an open design, which allows patients to see all around them and even have a loved one nearby during the procedure. The open concept is a better option for anxious or claustrophobic patients and for larger patients who are uncomfortable in a traditional tunnel MRI system.

The new open MRI scanner was designed to provide optimal image quality comparable to traditional closed or tunnel MRI scanners, while also keeping patient comfort in mind. While many patients are anxious about closed MRIs, the new Oasis provides an open view, allowing for a more comfortable patient experience. Patients will feel at ease as they will be able to stretch their arms and openly view their surroundings.
