Your Wondrous Event

The Women's Center of Carlisle Regional Medical Center offers you quality and individualized medical care in a family oriented atmosphere. You will enjoy homelike birthing rooms with labor, delivery, and recovery all in one cozy setting. Our private postpartum rooms are accommodating for your support person to spend the night.

All of our deliveries are performed by board certified Obstetricians or Certified Nurse Midwives. We have four Pediatricians and a number of Family Practice Physicians on staff to care for your infant. You have your choice of an experienced Pediatrician or Family Practice Physician for your newborn's care.

Moms can enjoy holding and breastfeeding their infants in the recovery room, where grandparents and siblings are encouraged to visit and to share in the miracle of birth. We encourage you to keep your baby with you in your room as much as you wish. Prior to your discharge to home, you and your support person will enjoy a special celebration dinner in honor of you and your new baby.

Occasionally, a baby must stay after Mom is discharged. As nurses and as mothers, we realize how traumatic this can be. We encourage parents to stay during the day and spend the night in one of our postpartum rooms, free of charge.

Tours

A tour of the Women's Center is included with Childbirth Education Classes. If you are not enrolled in Childbirth Education Class and would like a tour of the Women's Center, call (717) 960-1687. We would love to hear from you!

Visitation

Our visiting hours are planned to allow as much time as possible for your new baby to meet the entire family. The father or support person has unlimited visiting hours. Following delivery, grandparents and siblings can visit with the mother and baby in the Birthing Room or Recovery Room. The general public may visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
