Carlisle Regional Medical Center and Carlisle Urology Hosting FREE Prostate Screening on Thursday, October 4th

NFL Urges Central PA Men to "Know Your Stats"

CARLISLE, PA (September 20, 2021) — On Thursday, October 4, Carlisle Regional Medical Center and Carlisle Urology, will host a free prostate screening, encouraging men to “Know Your Stats about Prostate Cancer®,” the second-leading cause of cancer death for American men.

Know Your Stats is a national prostate cancer awareness campaign from the American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation and the National Football League (NFL). This campaign is bringing the message to fans across the nation, educating men and their loved ones about the importance of prostate health.

One in every six American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime, and African American men are more than twice as likely to die from the disease.

Virgilio Centenera, MD and Andrew Dussinger, MD of Carlisle Urology will offer free prostate screenings to men under the age of 75 by appointment on Thursday, October 4 between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at Carlisle Urology, located at 366 Alexander Spring Road in Carlisle (across the street from Carlisle Regional Medical Center). Light refreshments will be served.

To schedule an appointment, or for more information, please call (855) 249-CRMC (2762). Prostate screenings will be open to the first 50 appointments.
