Carlisle Regional Medical Center Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Hospitalists of Central Pennsylvania

CARLISLE, PA (February 13, 2022) — Carlisle Regional Medical Center is pleased to celebrate the one year anniversary of the arrival of the Hospitalists of Central Pennsylvania, an 11-physician member team which continues to provide quality, continuous medical care for patients at CRMC.

“In the year since their arrival at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, our entire medical staff and our patients have been pleased with the care and compassion provided by the Hospitalists of Central Pennsylvania,” said Dr. Howard Alster, chief of medical staff at CRMC. “Their expertise and friendliness have been a welcome addition and have played a vital role in continuing to further our commitment to improving the quality of care provided to our patients.”

A hospitalist is a physician with family or internal medicine training who specializes in the care of patients who have been admitted to a hospital. Under the hospitalist approach, these physicians are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patients admitted to Carlisle Regional Medical Center, closely monitoring patients’ conditions, test results and responses to treatment. Hospitalists also communicate directly with the patient’s own primary care provider and also care for patients who do not have a local physician.
